Edinbrugh 2015

Is that time of the year again where all the prep has begun for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015.

This year I working on four shows:

Blofeld and Baxter: Rogues on the Road

Blowers and Backers are back with a bran new, outrageous reminiscences, after earning rave reviews and captivating audiences from far flung corners of the globe. Henry ‘My Dear Old Thing’ Blofeld is one of Britain’s most loved broadcasters- even in his septuagenarian years he is indefatigable at the mic, delighting audiences of TMS and beyond, while legendary TMS producer, Peter Baxter has been corralling lost passports and errant broadcasters for over 34 years… Come ready to be shocked and entertained by good men behaving badly.

Joe Stilgoe: Songs on Film The Sequel

Back by popular demand, Songs on Film - The Sequel sees pianist, singer, songwriter and film nerd Joe Stilgoe pay tribute to 100 years of music that aided and abetted the legendary status of Hollywood cinema. From An American in Paris to The Apartment, Casablanca to Catch Me If You Can, Joe and his remarkable band perform songs written for and inspired by some of the greatest films over the last century.

Alex Horne: Monsieur Butterfly

Nominated for last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award, Alex’s stupidly ambitious, logistically problematic and potentially disastrous DIY comedy show is back. Now even bigger and even less likely to succeed, this is Monsieur Butterfly. Review from 2014: ‘Funny, fresh and original’ (Times), ‘A delight of a show’ (Independent), ‘Ingenious silly, a delight to witness’ (Observer), ‘Take your kids, take your granddad, but get them to wee before they go in because once this show starts you quite simply could not bring yourself to leave’ (Scotsman).

The Horne Section’s Question Session

The only band to ever host Never Mind the Buzzcocks and starts of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, the mighty Horne Section are back with their very own quiz show featuring the world’s finest comedians. After numerous bits and bobs on TV, three of their own series on Radio 4 and five years of sell-put shows around the world, Alex Horne now leads his outlandishly brilliant band into proper question-related battle. ‘A frivolously funny mash-up of music and mirth’ **** (Evening Standard). ‘Wildly entertaining welding of stand stand-up comedy and big band music’ (Guardian).

August 15-29th
